In a significant development, all 12 members of the girl group LOONA have finally severed ties with their controversial agency, Blockberry Creative, amidst controversies surrounding “unfair settlements” and other issues. The Seoul High Court’s Civil Division 5 ruled in favor of the remaining 5 members who had filed an appeal for an injunction to suspend the effectiveness of their exclusive contracts with Blockberry Creative.
This verdict grants freedom to the remaining members, HaSeul, Yeojin, Yves, Olivia Hye, and Go Won, enabling them to embark on a fresh start independent of Blockberry Creative. The court recognized the problematic nature of Blockberry’s transfer of exclusive contracts to their Japanese affiliate, Universal Japan, without the members’ written consent and decided to suspend the effectiveness of these exclusive contracts.
Following the departure of member Chu in November of last year, who was the first to leave the group, HeeJin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, Choerry, and HyunJin also left LOONA. With the recent court ruling, the last remaining 5 members can now pursue their activities freely.
Chuu has joined the agency ATRP, while HeeJin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry have found new agencies at Mod House, and HyunJin and ViVi have joined CTDENM. The remaining members, who had essentially suspended their activities indefinitely, now have the opportunity to start anew.
We are excited to see what the future holds for these talented hardworking girls!
