NU’EST’s Hwang Min Hyun is currently in talks to take on the lead role in a new K-drama adaptation based on a popular webtoon. Several media outlets reported on May 22 that Hwang Min Hyun has been offered the main lead in an upcoming K-drama titled “Study Group.“
In response to these casting reports, Hwang Min Hyun’s agency, Pledis Entertainment, acknowledged that the idol-actor did receive the offer and is currently considering it in a positive light.
It is speculated that Hwang Min Hyun will be ‘Yoon Gamin’ the main character, of this action packed school drama.
Prior to his potential role in “Study Group,” Hwang Min Hyun is set to appear in another highly anticipated K-drama called “Useless Lies.” In this drama, he will be working alongside acclaimed actors such as Kim So Hyun, Seo Ji Hoon, Yun Ji On, and Lee Si Woo.
Hwang Min Hyun gained recognition as an actor last year through his role in the popular K-drama “Alchemy of Souls.” His performance left a strong impression on the audience, and he was praised for his chemistry with the rest of the cast.
In 2023, Hwang Min Hyun also marked his solo debut, finally embarking on a solo career after a decade since his debut as part of NU’EST, Pledis Entertainment’s first boy group, in 2012. Additionally, he began his acting career in 2013, gradually building his experience in the industry. In 2020, Hwang Min Hyun took on his first leading role in a series, starring as the main lead in the K-drama “Live On” alongside Jung Da Bin, Noh Jong Hyun, Yang Hye Ji, Yeonwoo, and Choi Byung Chan.
“Study Group” will revolve around the story of a student who desires to excel in his studies but possesses exceptional fighting skills instead. The K-drama will be an adaptation of a webtoon with the same name.
Hwang Min Hyun has been offered the role of Yoon Ga Min, the main lead character in the story.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation regarding the release date and broadcasting channel for “Study Group.” Furthermore, there are no reports available yet regarding the other actors who will be joining Hwang Min Hyun in the drama.
