The script reading session of the highly anticipated supernatural thriller K-drama, Revenant, brought together the talented cast and production team, offering a glimpse into their synergy and the captivating roles they portray.
Kim Tae Ri, known for her versatility, takes on the character of Ku San Young, a young woman who leads a mundane life, juggling part-time jobs and nighttime studies in pursuit of a career as a public officer. However, her routine existence takes a dramatic turn when she inherits her father’s heirloom, unleashing a series of perplexing incidents that result in her becoming possessed by an evil spirit.
With exceptional skill, Kim Tae Ri portrays the complex character of Ku San Young, who confronts harsh realities while grappling with the malevolent entity within her. Her performance exudes an undeniable sense of tension and fear, leaving the audience impressed and fully engrossed in her portrayal.
Oh Jung Se takes on the role of Yeom Hae Sang, a professor specializing in Korean folklore at a university. Since childhood, Yeom Hae Sang has possessed a unique ability to perceive malevolent forces. This gift, however, has made it challenging for him to connect with others, causing him to immerse himself in the study of folklore. Undaunted by the weight of the role, Oh Jung Se skillfully embodies the character, portraying him with a somber expression and a commanding voice. He brings to life a passionate scholar who tenaciously unravels the mysteries surrounding evil spirits.
Hong Kyung, in his portrayal of police officer Lee Hong Sae, lives up to expectations. Lee Hong Sae is a detective known for his strong individuality, often finding himself entangled in enigmatic cases alongside Ku San Young and Yeom Hae Sang. Through his compelling performance and nuanced expressions, Hong Kyung showcases his acting prowess, transcending from being recognized as the “rising star of the next generation” to an accomplished actor.
Director Lee Jung Rim and writer Kim Eun Hee, alongside the talented cast, including Park Ji Young as San Young’s mother, Yoon Gyeong Moon, Kim Won Hae, Seo Mun Chun, Kim Seok Ran, Ye Soo Jeong, and Jin Seon Kyu, who portrays Ku San Young’s father, were all present at the script reading session.
