KBS seems to be fully embracing the use of 2PM’s popular song “Heartbeat” for their upcoming drama, as seen in the captivating new character posters. The first teaser received an overwhelmingly positive response, and the drama’s promotional material showcases the allure of the show.
Actor Taecyeon, known for his role in “Blind,” portrays the charismatic and undead character Seon Woo-hyul. He has quickly gained popularity among viewers, and the new stills reveal a sophisticated portrayal of Woo-hyul. The character is depicted surrounded by intense red lighting, displaying his menacing fangs and claws. The tagline on the poster highlights Woo-hyul’s regret of never experiencing a heartbeat, as he has never been human before.
Presumably, our vampire protagonist will have an opportunity to change his circumstances when he encounters the female lead, Won Ji-ahn, who portrays the cold-hearted human Joo In-hae. Their mismatched backgrounds and destined cohabitation provide ample material for comedic situations and unexpected adventures.
In In-hae’s poster, which maintains a similar red color scheme, the gothic elements are intensified. It features Woo-hyul’s well-groomed hand gripping the back of her neck, adding a sense of tension. The cryptic tagline, “Remember me, by my blood…” leaves numerous unanswered questions and intrigues the audience.
The drama also features a talented cast including musical actor Park Kang-hyun (known for his role in “West Side Story”), Yoon So-hee (from “Peng”), Go Kyu-pil (featured in “Shadow Detective”), Kim In-kwon (known for “Kokdu: Season of Deity”), Baek Seo-hoo (from “Cafe Minamdang”), and others.
“Heartbeat” is set to premiere on June 26 in the Monday-Tuesday time slot. The production will be helmed by directors Lee Hyun-seok (known for “Hello? It’s Me” and “The King’s Affection”) and Lee Min-soo (from “The Stain”). The scripts for the drama are written by Kim Ha-na and Jung Seung-joo.
